Peter Brown at the Albert Hall

Encouraged by his father, Alan Brown, a well-known figure in the morris dancing community both locally in Whitley Bay, Northumberland and nationally as sometime Squire of the Morris Ring, Peter Brown had learned to dance from Johnson Ellwood of Stanley, Co. Durham.

He had entered and won the revived Northern Counties Clog Championship held at Durham in 1976 and it must have been this success which prompted his invitation to dance at the EFDSS Royal Albert Hall Festival in 1977.

His musician for the occasion was his fther, playing the penny whistle.

Unfortunately no photographs of Peter at the evnt have been traced an the festival was not reported in the press.
