Green Ginger at the Albert Hall

Green Ginger Clog is a performance team based in Hull.  They were formed in about 1975 as part of a wider group of dancers including morris, country dancers and subsequently a garland dance team.

The clog group became well-known for their immaculate precision dancing, which undoubtedly led to their invitation to appear at the EFDSS Albert Hall Festival in 1982, called that year the “Folk Spectacular”.

The team for the festival consisted of five dancers, Sue Scott, Sue Jenkinson, Lynette Eldon, Jane Metcalfe and Rosie Fletcher and two musicians, Pete Fletcher on melodeon and Martin Bull on concertina.

In all the team performed four times, their two routines being a clog hornpipe and a clog waltz as an encore.
